Industrial Reverse Osmosis (RO)
Industrial Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems are engineered to remove dissolved salts, ions, and impurities from water using high-pressure filtration through semi-permeable membranes. These systems provide high-purity water essential for various industrial operations.
RO plants play a crucial role in sectors like pharmaceuticals, food & beverages, electronics, and power generation, where water quality directly impacts product safety, system efficiency, and compliance. RO technology is known for its high contaminant rejection, energy efficiency, and adaptability to different water sources.

How Industrial RO Systems Work
- Industrial RO systems purify water by forcing it through semi-permeable membranes under pressure. These membranes allow only water molecules to pass, blocking dissolved salts, minerals, and other impurities.
- This creates two outputs:
- >> Permeate: Treated, high-purity water
- >> Reject/Brine: Concentrated waste stream containing removed contaminants
- The purified water is used in industrial processes, such as boiler feed, equipment rinsing, and product formulation. The brine can be further treated or safely disposed of, depending on environmental guidelines.
Our Process to Meet Your RO Needs
- At Konark WaterDoc, we follow a step-by-step approach:
- >> Water Quality Assessment – We test source water for contaminants, salinity, and hardness
- >> Requirement Mapping – Identify volume needs, usage purpose, and discharge limits
- >> System Design – Recommend suitable RO technology, membranes, and plant size
- Throughout the project, we work closely with your team, ensuring the final solution is technically sound, regulatory compliant, and cost-effective.
Industrial RO Technologies We Offer
- We utilize a range of membrane and system types tailored to application needs:
- >> Spiral Wound Membranes – Compact, efficient, ideal for high-volume needs
- >> Hollow Fiber Membranes – Greater surface area, high throughput
- >> Tubular Membranes – Suitable for high-solid or high-pressure applications
- >> Nanofiltration (NF) – Removes larger ions and organic matter selectively
- >> Thin Film Composite (TFC) – High rejection rates, long membrane life
- >> Cellulose Triacetate (CTA) – Suited for brackish and challenging waters
- >> Low-Pressure RO – Energy-saving option for lower TDS water
- >> High-Recovery RO – Maximizes water reuse, minimizes waste
- Each solution is selected based on input water characteristics, process demand, and sustainability goals, ensuring maximum efficiency with minimum waste.
